70cl / 40% - Formerly known as '1780' in reference to the year the original Jameson distillery in Bow Street, Dublin, was founded, this has recently been relaunched as 'Special Reserve'. A smooth, spicy, sweet potstill-based blend.
70cl / 40% - A rich, dark, Irish blend, Black Bush contains a high proportion of triple-distilled single malt, aged in Oloroso sherry casks for around 8-10 years before marriage with the grain. Picked up the top prize in its category at the World Whisky Awards 2010.
Nose: Green apples, treacle, Seville oranges, candy peel, cloves and marzipan, old pantries. Taste: Sherbet, apples, dried fruit, mocha, late coffee ice cream. Finish: More Seville oranges, late bitterness.
75cl / 48% - Wasmund's is an American single malt whiskey, made at the Copper Fox Distillery in Virginia, the malt for which is dried at the distillery using applewood and cherrywood. This has been aged for 42 months using a secret 'chip and barrel ageing' process, which has certainly added plenty of colour to the final product..
